Growing up in a family of migrant farmworkers, Baldemar Velásquez spent his childhood in the fields, planting, weeding, and harvesting crops like sugar beets and berries. He has spent his career organizing farmworkers to have a greater voice in the conditions that affect their lives. At the age of 20, Baldemar co-founded the Farm Labor Organizing Committee [FLOC].
